How do I capturing the date and time settings from my camcorder footage to my pc when editing video’s?

I am very new to video editing and I have just figured out how to capture footage from my camcorder to my pc. When I do this however, the time and date settings from the footage is lost. It’s a canon camcorder and I have tried with pinnacle and ulead. Any suggestions?

You haven’t said what sort of camcorder you’re using – only MiniDV includes a date / time stamp. Even then, conventional editors can’t do anything with it – you need a special app like DVDate to make it visible.

try sub-title in Ulead or Pinnacle during edit… am afraid date/time stamping applies to stills.
