What are some free video editing software for PC that allows me to make use of timecode?

I am aware that there are some free video editing software for PC out there, but I want to know if there is one that allows me to make use of the timecode. I want to break the whole capture into clips which can be manually set to the timecode starting and out points. Windows Movie Maker automatically breaks the movie up into clips, but not where I want it to break it up.

The best place to look for free editing programs is on the cover of video magazines and there are not many available on the market. I buy one called "Practical Video Techniques" and occasionally i see free video editing programs on them. If you want a decent one at a reasonable price, the go for ‘Pinnacle Studio 10′, it does everything you need to do, normally costs about $160 NZD. The only other program i could think of that springs to mind is Windows Movie Maker and it obviously doesnt work for you. But couldn’t you just throw the clip into the timeline and then throw the next bit in the next section and edit out the bits you don’t want?
