HD Video not working on movie maker?

Every time i try to edit my hd (1080p) video movie maker stops working. my camera (DXG-595V-HD) came with two cds. one that came with editing software (Presto Videoworks 6) and the other cd is called Total Media Extreme. When i play the video on Total Media Extreme there i nothing wrong with it. but when i play it with quicktime its all messed up and impossible to watch. it gets all messed up when i try to use it on Presto Videoworks too. And when i try to use it on movie maker it just says movie maker has stopped working and shuts off. i did change the default program to everything i have… i really want to edit videos but i cant so please help me.

    It’s most likely not the right format. Use a different camcorder and then you can save the movie as an NTSC HD file after you are finished. It’s either that or your computer has something wrong with it. Try getting different software and/ get a Macbook. Mac>PC in my opinion.

    If it is wrong Movie windows maker
    will take it as a different video file
    and wont b able to play it.

    HD video editing is memory and resource intensive, so you probably need to upgrade your computer to a faster computer at least a dual processor. You also need lots of memory, especially if you are using Vista. Vista requires 1 Gig just to work well. So Increase your memory to 4 gigs if it will take it.

    Even editing video in SD requires a strong process and lots of memory. I have 3.5 gig memory, a good graphics card with 156 megs or higher, and a dual processor.

    Start with just a memory upgrade and see if that works. Upgrading memory is really easy.

    If you plan to do a lot of video editing then use a HD version Sony Movie Vegas or Pinnacle Studios which cost more, is more simplistic in many ways, but can handle a wider range of firewire and input connections.

    Check with Windows Help/support… HD may not be in the list of supported formats. Try other intermediate editors:
