I use pinnacle Studio DV 8. This is the only best software within the budget is available to capture high quality video from Digital Video Camcorder to your computer. Then you can easily edit the video, add special effects, sounds etc and record edited video to VHS tapes.

But remember one thing, you need to get either usb or pci video input/output port. It doesn’t come with the software.
This should not cost you more than £50. The software will also cost you £50.

I work in film studio. I have also worked in one of the Bollywood movies.

the best software in my opinion is premiere pro, however this is prohibitivly expensive. A cheaper (ie free!) alternative is windows movie maker available as a free download from
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/videos/likeapro.mspx
