Here's a Free program to capture video, it is VirtualDub... http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ You can only save the files as AVI, but you can use many compression codecs (Like DIVX) AFTER you captured the file. You may want to use a AVI to MPG converter too. If it don’t work with Windows Movie Maker, then it probably won’t work with anything else.
