Ever try asking a mechanic what they think is wrong with a car without letting them know what model of car has the issue? What exactly is wrong with the video? Is it dark, unclear, pixelated, color incorrect? Telling a mechanic your car is not working properly doesn't do much to help you or the mechanic identify the problem. It just says you are having a problem. Perhaps the video is so huge on your older screen that it seems pixelated? If so, resize the viewer to a smaller size, and the quality will clear up. If it is color, reset your monitor and the color may fix itself. Also if your monitor and video card are not specifically designed for HD video, the HD video will still play, but it will often be choppy and sometimes unclear or off in color. The chief advantages are speed (they come in 3 speed classes 2,4 and 6) and greater capacities up to 32 GB. This has nothing to do with the quality of the content. So whether or not you can record HD content to an SD or SDHC card is a mute point. The fact is you should be able to. I suspect that the problem is either your interconnect cable or with your TV/monitor and upscaling and signal processing more than any other reason. My suggestion would be to find a blog/forum that handles questions regarding your particular HD Camcorder, but be prepared to provide a lot more information. Good luck.
