How can I capture film that was taken on NTSC tape, but can only be downloaded with an HD camcorder?
I used a camera that used NTSC tape to film my movie. Unfortunately, my teacher had to leave, and had to take the camera back, so he gave me the tape to download at home. My camera is HD, and I don’t know anyone that has an NTSC camera I could borrow. Is there a way for me to capture the NTSC film onto Final Cut Pro with an HD camera?
If not, what should I do?

Your paragraph does not make sense to me.
If the miniDV tape that was used to record standard definition DV is what you have… and the camcorder that you have does HDV format video to miniDV tape, then you should be fine. The miniDV tape will fit in the HDV camcorder – and as far as I know, ALL HDV camcorders that use miniDV taope can deal with standard definition DV, DV widescreen and high definition HDV format video. Some (like the pro-grade Sony camcorders) can do that AND DVCAM or HDCAM, too.
Since you did not tell us what camcorder recorded the video and what camcorder you are using, we have no way to know if this is really a problem or not…
The only issues could be if the recording camcorder is NTSC and your camcorder is PAL… or if your camcorder does not use the same recording media as your camcorder – we have no way to know.
You can watch it in 1080p HD quality for free here:
