which Canon dSLR camera is better?
I am looking into dSLR’s and i have two that i really want. the canon 50D or the canon 7D.
-while the 7D has a better feature set, a 100% coverage viewfinder, high 18.1Mp resolution and records 1080p video, it cost ,849 with the lens, and that is a bit to much right now.
-on the other hand the 50D has a slightly more basic feature set, 15Mp sensor, and does not record movie, it cost ,299 with the lens which is a much better price for me.
if i were to buy the 50D, would i be missing out on much of the things that the 7D does or is the 7D worth the money?
…..BTW: if you are going to recommend another camera, i would prefer that you also answer the question above along with your recommendation.

Since the 7D has more features, you just need to ask yourself if you actually need all of them. If not, you can save a little money and get the 50D. If you use the 50D for a while, you’ll probably never wish you had bought the 7D instead. The 50D is a great camera that’ll probably fulfill most of your needs. You can also use the saved money to buy some quality lenses.
go for the Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-inch LCD and 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens better
well, the movie capture on slrs isn’t all its said to be yet, so you really wouldn’t be missing out there. as for the viewfinder, you’ll never notice the difference. the resolution, you’ll never notice it unless you’re blowing up pictures into posters or something. unless you’re a serious pro, i think you should just go for the 50D and use the extra cash on a nice lens. good luck! =]
I think (money wise) that a Canon 50D is a good upgrade (IQ compared to the 7D) and don’t care for the video or faster AF.
If you are looking for the most IQ available today, it’s no brainer that the 5D Mark II is the choice (and don’t mind the extra money) performs better in low light than the 7D. Now the 7D is faster on Focus and in FPS, so if youre a sports shooter or wildlife photographer the 7D will suit you more.

Personally, I have absolutely no desire to do video on my DSLR. I certainly wouldn’t pay $600 more for the privilege to do so (can get a much better DV camcorder for $600). The megapixels don’t really mean much to me. The 100% viewfinder would be nice, but not $600 nice. Therefore, I’d get the 50D. I’d even consider saving a bit of extra cash and getting a 40D. The extended ISO of the 50D over the 40D would be nice though so that’d be a tougher decision.
