The Speed HD-50z can use SDHC cards up to 16GB (Class 6). The class number is the writing speed. Memory cards come in different brands but I use Sandisk or Kingston and have never had a problem with them. I get mine from amazon.com.

I can’t tell a difference in a Class 4 card or Class 6, so I get the Class 4’s and save money that way.
