What is a great affordable HD camcorder?
I’m looking for something to post videos to the internet, that will produce a high quality image.
I’ve been comparing the Sony HDR-CX100 AVCHD HD Camcorder and Flip HD.

You will have more control and features with the Sony then the Flip. But obviously the Sony costs almost twice what the say, Flip UltraHD does. The Flip is compact and pocket size, but the Sony is easier to hold steady in your hand(s0. while recording.
I would recommed the Flip HD, Its small, not mean for big movies, but perfect for capturing those small moments.

the flip cam is stupid. go for the kodak zi8. much better. and if you can wait two months there will be a new one out that is waterproof.

A JVC will beat both of your choices.
The Flip HD and the kodak K8 are both shoot rather crappy video quality. I have a great Panasonic the shoot in true HD. I just checked Amazon and they are selling the Panasonic HDC-TM10K for only $459, so you will be getting a better bargain than me! for under $450, there are tons of great HD cameras you can get. I have a DXG-569V, that takes 720p HD video very well and have seen it for about $80 online, brand new. however, there are plenty of 1080p HD cameras for well under $450, which work very well. heck one of them is a little helmet camera, the GoPro Hero. this is an great camera that takes great video, and is practically bulletproof. it’s an action camera, and it’s only about the size of a small wireless laptop mouse, probably smaller. it’s also waterproof. only downsides to it are that it does not have a screen, and it may feel a little awkward to hold it, but it’s a helmet camera, for things like dirt bikes and surfing and stuff. personally, i’d get it, but some people don’t have a use for a camera like that. it goes for about $300.
i doubt you would pick this one, but you can get some amazing shots with it if you ever get the opportunities. i have the old version and i love it, but the new one is just amazing.
