Samsung missed a few things with the HMX-U10 that makes it not even worth my time at $200 and my kodak zi8 is arriving on Tuesday,…they released some of them in error on the kodak site and my order got through.

This is Samsung’s first entry (1st generation) into the handhelds and it DOES NOT have image stablization and NO HDMI out!!. That is a deal killer for me (kodak Zi8 has both) The Samsung does have 10mp stills..where Kodak has 5mp stills.. but unless I want a 14×14 picture..I don’t care..so it depends on your reason to purchase. Personally.. I want to plug this into my High Def 46 inch tv and I can’t do that with the Samsung. To me it is obsolete before it even comes out.
Go for the Kodak. Also this is Kodak’s 3rd entry (zi6 then zx1 and now zi8) and it is more refined then the samsung. Kodak even hired and outside designer for the zi8. That was a first for the company.
PS. the Samsung only has a 2 inch LCD, the Kodak is 2.5 inch, not to mention that the Kodak is 20 bucks cheaper at full price. I only paid $143 though on kodak.com with a coupon.
