My birthday just passed and now i have enough money to buy the canon t1i. I’ve had my eye set on this camera for a long while…that is until my dad said to wait until i have enough to buy the nikon d90.

Now i’ve done my research and the nikon d90 is clearly the better choice. It performs better in every way, except for not have 1080p hi-def video. The kit lens is also much better than the t1i’s.

The cons for the d90, however, is that it is larger, heavier, more expensive (by 0 or so), and the nikkor lenses are more expensive, as well.

The t1i doesn’t perform as well as the d90, but it is smaller, much cheaper, and has access to all of the canon EOS lenses, which are cheaper and, some argue, are much better than nikkor lenses. I could use the extra 0 to buy other lenses, a bag, a tripod, etc.

Please help me choose.

So both cameras are DSLR models, in which are the first of their kind to shoot video. The Canon 500D records in 1080p x 1920p (maximum), or a more common phrase as "1080" resolution, and the cameras sensor is 15.1 MP.

The D90 shoots in 720p x 1280p, or "720" resolution, and is 12.3 MP.

The Canon is 0 w/ kit lens, and the D90 is 00 w/ kit lens.

Its an obvious choice the Canon shoots better video, but why would I still be leaning towards the D90? What am I not seeing?

Is the D90 over-priced, or is the 500D under-priced?

Does the D90 have better/more features?

I would use the camera for pictures, more than video, but I’d just like to know your opinion :)

Lots of buzz about HD10; 20; 30 Flash, Hardrive MinDV- very confused. not looking to break the bank eitehr but insist on HD. What is the best bang for the buck, quality HD Camcorder? Don’t need to record to the web. St8t to HDTV.

Hello, I am and am turning 17 next month. I was considering the Canon Sx10 until i saw the SX1. I used to own a P&S kodak which I took pictures and lots of video with. My question is should i spend the 600 to get the Sx1 because of the 1080p HD video recording and newly upgraded 4 fps continuos shotting mode?? I am really into videotaping bikers but also want to take nice photos. Or should I just stick with the SX10? I always feel like i get too expensive of products when i don’t always need them….but its a really nice camera and I will probably have it up until or even through college.

I am looking at the sony, samsung, panasonic, canon, or JVC HD camcorder lines and wonder if they(or which ones don’t) work with a UStream video stream.

Hey I’m looking for a professional SLR or Camcorder that takes nice videos in 24p or 20p 1080p max FULL HD.

You know when you’re watching a motion picture, whenever someones talking in the scene it blurs them out and focuses on the talking person and also blurs out a little bit of the background behind them… Does the CANON T1i have that kinda focus feature?

I have a Canon XH A1 camcorder. It has a 4 pin firewire connector. The manual simply refers me to some 0 software package that Canon sells and I’m not interested in spending that amount of money to digitize the video.

So, what other software can I use to get the video from the camera into a video file on my PC? I have both a mac and a PC, so a package for either one will be fine (although I prefer PC).

Keep in mind that the camcorder outputs 1080i video, so the software needs to support that.

I want a good hd camcorder that takes good still camera pictures…

I have a Canon PowerShot SD 750 and it films at roughly 640×400. If I save it as an hd file on Windows Movie Maker, it claims to put it at 1080p with a speed of 7.8 mbps and 30 frames per second. However, when I saved a sample video in this file and compared it to the original, it looked slightly better, but it was much smaller. If I upload this onto youtube, will I still get the full hd?

I have a canon gl1 camcorder and i was wondering if there is any software you can use (i you even can) to edit videos and such.
