I just recently bought a Kokak zi8 camcorder but it only records files in MOV?

Let me tell you, I LOOOVE this camera, its gorgeous on 1080p, i use it a lot to record my druming, but is it possible to make the videos when i transfer them from the camera to my laptop to not be in file MOV but in MPEG? so i dont have to convert them to MPEG and then edit them in windows movie maker.
when i convert it to MPEG it ruins the whole HD :(

What is the best video camera to buy if I was to buy a Mac?

Does anyone do any video editing? I would like to record some 1080p, and then transfer it to the Mac to edit and share with my family.

I’m looking more for ease of use, internal memory (a lot of it) and most of all, the best video quality for a direct import into programs ranging from iMovie, to Final Cut.

Does a 720p/i TV make lower resolution videos seem clearer than watching them on a 1080p/i TV?

It makes sense, but I’m asking for an opinion from someone that may have a little bit more experience with a TV. the reason I’m asking is because I have a video camera that records at standard definition. It does have 16:9 aspect ratio, but it’s definitely not HD. I watch it on my 45.9" 1080i lcd TV, it just doesn’t look as clear. I wonder if it’s because it’s destorted or not. Then I watch it on my sisters TV, which is 42" 1080/720i (I don’t know if it’s 1080 or 720) and it’s a lot more clear, and defined than on my TV. This made me wonder if maybe she has a 720 pixel TV, and with fewer pixels, it didn’t need to fill in the space, creating the clearer picture. I don’t know, tell me if it’s maybe just the TV, or if there is definitely a difference between 720 and 1080 on making standard definition look better. Thanks.

Looking for a firewire to usb cable and video editing software?

I have a Sony DCRTRV900 and I used to have a Sony laptop as well with video editing software and Adobe Premier. The computer is old so I need to connect it to a new computer. Is there a firewire to usb cable? And if I use a program like Premier will it control the camera or how do I just import videos and then save or edit? Also, is this camera even worth using anymore? I remember it was about 00 new, but I’m sure you can buy something new for a lot less.

How to I transfer files from my flip video camcorder to a CD-R disk after installing the flip video software?

I was just wondering because I have a lot of rare vacation video footage and I didn’t want to delete it, so I got the idea of transfering it to a disk since the flip camcorder box says it’s an option. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know…Thanks!

I need a Mac compatible HD video camera and somewhat cheap editing software?

I’ve been looking around (with not too much luck) to find a pretty nice HD camcorder and video editing software for the Mac. I’m trying to find the camera for under 0, and the software nothing too fancy but I’d like green-screen compatibility. Anyone have any tips? It would mean a lot!

Is it pointless to get a HD camcorder when owning a Mac?

There are a lot of compatibility issues when attempting to put HD video onto a Mac to edit. I know there are ways around it but from what I understand, when burning to a DVD it converts it to SD format anyway. (Unless I went the blue ray route. Which I don’t want to do) So, is it pointless to get a HD camcorder if i’ll never end up seeing the video in HD. Or is it a better quality because it was shot in HD regardless of the fact that it was converted to SD?
