I was recently video taping an event and someone kicked the power cord out from the outlet, which turned off the camera. This morning, when importing the videos, I noticed that the first 40 minutes was missing from the memory card.
Is there any way of finding the lost footage or do I need to hit the REC button for it to successfully save to the memory card? It is a Panasonic HD Camcorder. Thanks!

Going for 7 days so loads of filming will be done. Any recomendations on size, price and places to buy?

I want to buy a Canon HD camcorder S100 or S10. The main difference is that one contains 32GB hard disk/internal memory while the other has none.

The one that has the internal memory is more expensive, and with the price difference, I can buy more than 32GB in memory cards.

Do I need the internal memory? isn’t better to keep operating on the memory cards, and I would have the option to upgrade as soon as new capacities are available in the market?

i have a kodak zi8 video camera and i was using it earlier and it just completely froze out of nowhere.
i took out the memory card and that didn’t help. i tried turning it off and it didn’t work. i even put it on the charger to see if it was low on battery. nothing’s worked so far.
does anybody know how i can fix this? otherwise, i really don’t know how i’m gonna fix it.

so were getting a kodak zi8 and im aware that it doesnt include a memory card. but im not sure which size is better, and at which quality i should get. i am trying to stay thrifty though. kodak recommends its high speed mmry cards, but is that really necessary? would the quality of the video really decrease? could i still keep the quality of the video with a regular memory card? and should i be opting for 8bg +, or would 4gb be enough? how long would 4gb record?

Specifically a kodak Zi8. I don’t know what else I need to buy with it. I guess a Memory Card and a Tripod. What else?

Ok so I have two set of parents, step mom and dad, step dad and mom. My mom said I could ask for one big present for christmas, like electronics. Same with my dad. I still will get a lot of other presents to, just not like stuff over 0. So basically I can get two big presents.
So heres the deal, I already have and ipod nano 4g purple, but the new nano with the video camera looks pretty cool. And having an ipod touch would be pretty amazing cuz it would have all the amazing apps on it, but i have heard that they are going to be coming out with a new one with a camera on:/ I don’t want it to get outdated right away if I get it!

Also I think having a TV at my moms house would be good because I have two other step siblings and two siblings, so I always miss my favorite shows on the premiere nights.:( Heres a link of one that looks pretty cool….I’m not sure what the quality of it is or nething.

And last but not least, having a new digital camera would be amazing. My camera right now has a memory card that doesnt really store that much, and when it takes videos it doesnt have sound:( and its kinda big, but just a little bigger than the canon ones out right now. I can’t decide weather asking for a new camera is really worth it. My little sister got a sony one last year and it broke right away, so im not sure.

If anyone could give some good advice on quality of electronics or release dates of new stuff or what you think i should ask for, Im completely open! Remember I can ask for two big electronics:D

btw i have a birthday in february, so maybe i could ask for something then.
