okay. So at the moment my camera is busted. So I have no camera. I love making videos. maybe I will put them on youtube. I need to get a new camera. I am going to the beach in August. I don’t know If I should get a camcorder that takes still photos. or a camera that takes video. I don’t really want the flip video camera…. I just bought a Sony Handycam HDR-XR500V to shoot videos and edit them in Final Cut Studio 2 on my macbook but the video convertors I use (SUPER and Compressor) couldn’t convert the video and the included software (which I installed in Bootcamp) couldn’t convert it to 1080p, which would be a waste because I bought a camera that could shoot 1080p video but the included software can’t convert it. Is there a video converter that can convert AVCHD videos for free? If anyone else has this camera or a similar one, could you help me?

I was wanting to get a camcorder soon because I am interested in making film. I found a Sony camcorder for 0 and a HD sony camcorder for 0. Is there a big difference in HD and non HD that is worth 0?

okay right now im looking at a canon vixia hg20 or 21 HD camcorder. What i dont know if whether canon is the best HD. Ive checked some videos in youtube. and have seen them to be great. But which is the best brand of HD camcorder that is best cheapeast at 9 below HD camcorders. and what brand is the best canon, sony, or etc… plz help.

so i have been lookin for a great camcorder. i’m lookin for one that can take 10 meg pixel stills, and o lets see full 1080p hi-def all that mess, also lookin for 5.1+ sound. what else is there, i’m not lookin for k price tag either more near 1k if possible. most important to me is video quality, i’ve looked at a sony something 500 it was 1080 but the video on the hdtv it was hooked up to looked very grainy. it was bad and i do not want that. if i knew more about what to look for and had to time to really educate myself on this subject i’d test every camera that caught my eye (that met what i was looking for) so i could see first hand. unfortuanlly they don’t have every camera hooked up to a hd tv so seeing the difference between that little screen and a real tv isn’t gonna be possible. so, i’m tryin to find all these features in a single cam. lack of a hard drive or internal memory is best. i’ve been looking around and i have even seen gps in cameras(blows my mind) and thats not something i’m lookin for but if its there nice extra my question is what camera has all these features in a single cam. or is there one?
i AM gonna need more than just a brand name. i am looking at models and reading reviews, but i believe i am noticing a lot of bias reviews. i’ve been to bestbuy.com and newegg.com and even to manufacture websites but i’m still havin trouble. after today what i saw in the store just numbers to compare by doesn’t mean best picture and other features. only experienced owners can tell. so if you have a camcorder and have something related to my question plz include the model of the camera!! thank you!!

I do have a digital camera, but it’s on its way out. I doubt that I’ll keep it for another 12 months. So I’m considering replacing it now. But I’m also interested in the kodak Camcorder. But I will not be uploading anything to be viewed online. All for personal usage.

Ok so i was thinking about getting the Sony Weebly HD camcorder, but then someone told me about the MIno flip ultra hd camcorder. But i’m not sure which one is better, they are both in the same price range. But i’m not sure which one has better HD Quality. HELP!
