like when i am looking at an hd video camcorder i see a bunch of numbers and letters and such. What do these mean and what am i looking for in higher quality? also what are some better brands?

I already have all the neccesarty connection cables but the software that came with my camera doesn’t actually capture video it only does pictures. I basically just want to upload to my computer, something that I coudl at least cut in to clips would be nice too. but more than anything just want to upload.

is there any good software out there?

Best as in best to use to shoot stuff e.g. home videos?

Just for shooting home videos and stuff. Does anyone know if this brand is good, i.e. durable and high quality picture?
Also what’s the difference between advanced, optical and digital zoom? Is the zooming important? Because this camera only has 5x optical zoom, and I’ve seen others with 35x…
